I made a superhero Father's Day cake for a customer that wanted various superheroes. It's a strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream frosting and fondant decorations. Captain America, Iron Man, Spiderman, and Superman!

Superhero Cupcakes!

For a customer last week I made sixty cupcakes for a superhero birthday party. I was asked to make some chocolate cupcakes and the others strawberry. I printed some cupcake wrappers and toppers from Etsy.com on card stock paper, cut out each, and tape onto lollipop sticks. I frosted them with vanilla buttercream frosting.

Girl Sock Monkey Birthday Party!

Molten Chocolate Cakes

Molten Chocolate Cakes
Ingredients:
  • 5oz- unsweetened Baker's Chocolate squares
  • 8oz - semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 10tbs of butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 3eggs
  • 3egg yolks
  • 1tsp of vanilla
Tools: 6 Ramekins or Jumbo cupcake pan with 6 cups (I used my jumbo cupcake pan)

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.

Grease each cup on the pan with baking spray (or butter) and dust with flour. Shake out excess flour.

Melt the butter and chocolates in microwave. Mix every 30seconds until completely melted & smooth. Add the flour and sugar to the bowl and stir.
In another bowl mix the egg yolks, eggs, & vanilla. Add to the chocolate mixture and stir until completely combined and smooth.
Divide the batter evenly in each cup. Fill each cup about 3/4 full... be sure not to over fill.
Bake for 14min. Allow cakes to cool for 2min. and then pop out onto serving plate. You may want to run a knife around the edges of the pan to make sure the cake is completely detached from it.
Serve with vanilla ice cream or top with powdered sugar. Yummy!
Enjoy!

Crudité Platter

I just finished up this crudité platter (vegetable platter) for my older sister's job's lunch party. This is my first time making a crudité platter and I think it came out pretty well. I used two cabbages to put the ranch dip and hummus in. I also used the extra cabbage leaves to make bowls for the vegetables. I used carrots, celery, cauliflower, radishes, cucumber, squash, red bell pepper, & pita chips.

Happy Birthday, Mom! Pancake Fondant Cake

Today is my mom's 51st  birthday! This morning I woke up early to make my mom brunch in bed and a cake to go along with it. It was supposed to be breakfast in bed, but even though I started on the cake at 8am I didn't finish until 11am so I changed it to brunch. I made a 6inch vanilla cake with vanilla frosting. I used fondant to make it look like stacked pancakes and pipping gel with food coloring to make the maple syrup. I painted on the brown to the pancakes with a vanilla extract & food coloring mixture. My mom said that it was the "best breakfast ever" & that it really made her day! I'm so happy that she loved the surprise!

"Perfect Cheesecake" Recipe by Simply Recipes

Today I made the "Perfect Cheesecake" recipe I found on simplyrecipes.com
I made a chocolate cheesecake two weeks ago (pictures & recipe I have previously posted) and ever since that one got eaten up my mom has been wanting a New York-ish type cheesecake. So this morning I started making this "Perfect Cheesecake" and for dinner tonight it was a big hit. Everyone loved it! I tweeked the recipe a bit though. I used two pre-made graham cracker crusts instead of using one springform pan and the recipe was enough to fill both of the pans. I also added double the confection sugar when making the cream that goes on top to make it sweeter and less sour creamy. I didn't make the raspberry sauce to go on top of the cream and it was great without it.
